  • May 7 The beer industry look awfully crowded after 250 new craft breweries opened in 2011 and another 1K new ones are reported to be in the planning stages. State lawmakers are jumping into the fray, as witnessed in New York where legislation is getting pushed to reduce taxes on small breweries to make them more competitive with larger players such as Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD), Molson Coors (TAP), SABMiller (SBMRY), and even mid-sized Boston Beer (SAM). The buzz from an industry conference: A bubble could be about to burst.
