  • Friday 8:38 AM Honda (HMC) recalls over 52K Acura TL sedans in the U.S. to address issues with the power-steering hose. While the costs for a recall can be high to automakers, the biggest toll may be on unsuspecting used car owners with data out from Edmunds.com suggesting only about half of owners repair their recalled vehicles.

  • Friday 7:07 AM "It's like a contagious disease that will spread," says an executive with the Chinese Auto Dealers Association of car inventories that risen to more than 45 days of sales - typically a level at which dealers being "debilitating" price cuts. Total sales declined 1.3% in the January-April period, the worst showing since 1998.
